I kept the world's laziest diary for the second half of 2018: each day I noted what colour the sky was, what colour the sea was, and how I felt (as a colour). I'm pretty happy with the results. It was quick enough to do even on days where something went horribly wrong at work, and the resulting chromatic timelines make sense and convey the rhythm of the year to me.

Dates run from top (June) to bottom (December).

This one's the sea. I posted about it in more detail separately, but overall the sea apparently tends toward blue in summer, green in fall, and grey in winter. It's the chromatic timeline I'm happiest with.

This one is the sky. It's pretty much grey all year here, to varying degrees (summer's a little lighter), but the smoke from the forest fires is the ugly grey-into-khaki bit about a third of the way in, and there are a couple intense electric blue fall skies further down before winter sets in.

Here's general daily mood. This one's pretty noisy. I think I mostly tended to pick a hue, but a lot of time didn't pay as much attention to saturation or value, so they're more visible than relevant. Yellow and white are Bad Days, though - the yellowy bit near the top is the death of a friend.
